ISPRS is proud to launch two new awards, the Gottfried Konecny Award and the Li Deren Award
The Gottfried Konecny Award and the Li Deren Award will be presented during ISPRS Congresses to outstanding ISPRS scientists for their exceptional achievements. The procedures for the selection of awardees are described in the Terms of Reference of the individual Awards.
The Gottfried Konecny Award is sponsored by the German Society for Photogrammetry Remote Sensing and Geoinformation (DGPF) in honor of Professor Gottfried Konecny (1930-2024), who made significant contributions to photogrammetry, remote sensing and ISPRS. The Gottfried Konecny Award consist of a certificate and a monetary grant of 2500 €. The recipient shall be a person who, in the spirit of Gottfried Konecny, has made significant long-term contributions to the science, scientific management and international cooperation in remote sensing. Nominations for The Gottfried Konecny Award shall reach the President of ISPRS not later than 6 months prior to the Congress at which it will be presented.
The Li Deren Award is sponsored by the Chinese Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC) in honor of Professor Li Deren, and will be presented to a person who has made significant achievement or innovation in Spatio-temporal Intelligence. The Li Deren Award consist of a medal and a monetary grant of 5,000 CHF. Nominations for the Li Deren Award are to be submitted in writing to the President of ISPRS at least six months in advance of the Congress at which it will be presented.
