New Editor-in-Chief of the ISPRS International Open Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (IOJPRS)

We are pleased to announce that, as of 1 January 2026, Dr. Martin Weinmann will assume the role of Editor-in-Chief of the ISPRS International Open Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (IOJPRS).

Dr. Weinmann is an Assistant Professor at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and is well known within the ISPRS community for his high-quality contributions to the fields of photogrammetry and remote sensing, in particular for his work on aerial optical and LiDAR point cloud processing and analysis. Over the past years, he has served as an Associate Editor of the ISPRS International Journal of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Prof. George Vosselman, the current Editor-in-Chief, for the tremendous work he has accomplished over the past five years — from the successful launch of the journal, to his efforts in attracting authors and high-quality papers. Thanks to his leadership, the journal has now been officially selected for indexing in the Web of Science, with its first Impact Factor expected in the first half of 2026.

Congratulations to Martin on this new responsibility, and heartfelt thanks to George for his outstanding commitment and vision in establishing IOJPRS as a leading publication in our field.
